Luiz Fernando Delazari joins a panel with executives from BRP and Grupo Náutica, highlighting the Binational’s projects such as biogas and green hydrogen
Itaipu Binacional’s Legal Director, Luiz Fernando Delazari, took part this Tuesday (18th) in the panel “Transitioning to a Carbon-Neutral Future: Creative Solutions in Energy, Mobility, and Tourism” at the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém (PA). The initiative was organized by the Ministry of Tourism (MTur).
Alongside John Michael Codd, General Manager for Latin America at Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), and Ernani Paciornik, President of Grupo Náutica, Delazari shared Itaipu’s actions toward energy transition and the development of a low-carbon economy.
During the discussion, the Legal Director emphasized Itaipu’s role as an innovation lab for sustainability, highlighting projects that go beyond hydroelectric power generation.
“We have a green hydrogen plant inside Itaipu, where production is already underway. We also have a number of successful projects developing other renewable energy sources, such as the biogas plant,” he explained.

According to Delazari, these projects do not have a primary financial objective, but instead serve as public policy tools and models for other initiatives, reinforcing the Binational’s commitment to promoting the diversification of the energy matrix and the circular economy
